The Adventure Experience
(Details)
The "The Adventure Experience" entails a brief refresher of everything learned at Adventure Camp, and then lots of real world trail riding experience under the watchful eye of your guide.
This program will focus on setting up your bike for off road travel, and will help you create an "equipment list" for both yourself and your bike that will enable you to be self sufficient in the back country.
The Adventure Experience is an all encompassing 3 day "road trip/program" which includes lots of miles "off road" on a carefully designed route which begins with easy dirt roads and becomes more and more challenging as the ride progresses. You will learn to handle "sand washes," rough and rocky jeep roads, single track & all the other surprises that are possible in the back country. We also place a heavy emphasis on understanding the benefits of good riding gear, and the specialty equipment available to set your motorcycle up for "Adventure Riding"
The Adventure Experience will include:
- A refresher course on dirt riding skills (2 hours)
- On the trail reminders of everything taught at adventure camp.
- Approximately 500 miles over 3 days, minimum 150 miles off road
- Intensive backcountry navigation class "on the trail" using GPS & maps
- There will be a strong focus on gear that should be mandatory for both you and your motorcycle to keep you both safe and comfortable in the backcountry. We will conduct daily overviews of "Adventure gear and equipment" offered by a number of companies that serve the "Adventure Rider"
- A short night ride to illustrate the challenges of night time riding, and the benefits of auxiliary lighting.
- A mix of hotels and camping nites
- Minimum of 1 nite of true camping (in a group camp situation) with your own or our "loaner gear". We will provide meals, beverages and shower facilities.
This is a fun, easy, safe and informative way to ease you into the world of "Adventure Riding". We realize that adventure riding isn't for everyone; it takes a special breed of person to enjoy the rugged backcountry. This is a civilized way to determine if the world of "Adventure Riding" is for you! Or… if you already know you like the "Adventure World", then perhaps you should just look at this as "continuing education" and a whole lot of fun.
