California Adventure Rally
(Adventure Rally Rides)

Top 5 rides will be: in descending levels of difficulty.

  1. The South Park loop, Very Challenging, very rewarding ride. experts only. Lots of boulders, ruts and very rough terrain. A 25 mile loop ride from Ballarat. The view over Death Valley from the top of the pass is nothing less than stunning. (Difficulty level 5+) all day ride. Note- damage potential to bike is high, so are the recovery costs…please believe me... experts only.
  2. Charlie Manson's cabin. The place that the famous serial killer if the "70's was apprehended. The ride up Golar wash is quite challenging, its manageable on a GS if you are a very good off road rider, rock ledges, lots of sand, and large rocks. (Difficulty level 5) - 30 miles, half day ride.
  3. Ride to the "Race Track" one of Death Valleys best kept secrets, a dry lake bed with "boulders" that mysteriously move on the surface of the mud. 110 mile loop, partially paved. (Difficulty level 4) - all day ride.
  4. The Wells Fargo Stage Coach trail to "Great Falls". Ride the old Wells Fargo stage trail to one of the only places in the desert where there is an honest water fall. Great falls is an unbelievable granite "bowl" of stone... with a series of water falls cascading down the side of the mountain. All day ride. (Difficulty level 3)
  5. The "Cerra Gordo Experience" an amazing ride to the perfectly preserved ghost town of Cerra Gordo. The site of the richest silver strike in California. The site is so remote that there has been no vandalism, and the original 3 story hotel and all the major buildings still stand. We will follow the Wells Fargo Stage coach trail back to camp. 90 miles off road (Difficulty level 3) all day ride.
  6. Agueberry Point, a stunning view over Death Valley that few ever see. Mostly a street ride, with a 6 mile dirt road out to the "view point" considered one of the top 3 "view points" in California. (difficulty level 2, passable by 2 wheel drive passenger cars ) on your way to Agueberry point be sure to stop by the "charcoal Kilns" an engineering marvel of the 1800's. The view over the Sierra Nevada mountains is beyond spectacular.
  7. . Ride to the Trona Pinnacles. Easy and fun. The Trona Pinnacles are about 7 miles south of Trona, and are a unique bit of California geography. The unusual Tufa Spires provide an unearthly landscape, and are fascinating to explore. The recent remake of "Planet of the Apes" was filmed here because of the unique landscape. Really worth a visit.
