The Secret Adventure Rally (2006)
Welcome to the Secret Rally Homepage.
This is going to be a very special Adventure Event. We'll begin by stating that the destination venue is a "Secret" & it will only be revealed via our issuance of a series of clues, and GPS co-ordinates during the registration period, which you must collect and hold on to till its time to ride.
Once the registration period is over, and you are on your way to the event, you will want to give yourself plenty of time to get to the rally site. We will be directing you to visit some of the most unusual places in California at which you will pick up additional clues and maps to sleuth your way to the rally...
It won't matter whether you come from Northern or Southern California, or from out of state. The clues will be convenient for all to find, (ride with a friend of one of our participating BMW dealers if you don't have a GPS, or you are not proficient with the use of a GPS process. We don't want to leave anyone out, but we want to make it unusual, fun, and something of a challenge.
Let us tell you a little about the Rally Site. Imagine a subterranean world, a hundred meters below the surface of the earth. Imagine that this place is open to the sky, but is truly below the surface of the earth. Imagine further that this subterranean chasm is a garden oasis... with a thousand palm trees and running water...
Strangely enough a place like this really exists and we plan to introduce you to it. In early January 2006 this luscious oasis will be the host site of the California/Nevada Secret Adventure Rally.
The riding in this area is fabulous. There are giant sand dunes nearby for those of you who want to try your hand at "dune riding" (which is difficult on a big bike) there are mining sites, mountain passes and the historic "Old Spanish Trail". You won't be bored... and the venue itself is a place that beckons you to just bring a book and read for a while... And enjoy the uniqueness of the location, and the camaraderie of the Adventure lifestyle, and another outstanding event. RIDING TO THE RALLY:
Many BMW dealerships will serve as starting points for those of you who enjoy the camaraderie of riding with a group. Each dealership will have a "ride master" leading the way to the rally.
