Sign up now

It's a really big help to get an early idea about quantities of food, water, porta potties and all the other logistical things that have to be pulled together to make an event like this. If you can look ahead into February and want to join us for what will surely be a fantastic event - sign up today. The application and waiver are available here on the website

How to sign up?

Its simple, just download the PDF application and waiver - print them, fill them out and mail them to us with your entry fee. The Oasis that the rally is being held at can hold approximately 300 riders, so there is a good chance if you wait till the last minute ... we will have to turn you away...

What's new for this rally?

We have added a couple of new things to our program for this event. As I am sure most of you have figured out we really try hard to make these events fun, unique, and a great value for your money. We are very passionate about the world of Adventure Riding! We want to do a great job with our rally series, and we want you to return time and time again because you have confidence in us, so below are our two "improvements" for this rally. (we are going to keep trying new things, some will work, and will be incorporated into our overall plans, and others won't - so please give us feedback)

RawHyde Food

The Secret Rally will be catered by RawHyde. In prior events we have contracted with a Bar BQ caterer, and while we got good feedback, we think we can do a better job, and offer higher quality food, Additionally we have a reputation for Great Food, and we want that to continue. The next email regarding the event will contain the menu for rally... Trust me... its going to be great. Those of you who have participated in any of RawHydes training camps or tours will know what I am talking about.

Wine with your meal?

This will be an optional item. * note the option on your application. The food that we will be serving at this rally is worthy of a good glass of wine. We are working with one of Napa Valleys premier wineries to be able to offer you a spectacular bottle of wine with your meal on Saturday night. For a measly 10 bucks it a great way to add some elegance to your desert evening.

General Details

OK here are the basics, Registration will begin at 4 PM on Thursday the 2nd of Feb. The Price is $199 including a place to camp, all meals (Dinner Thurs. through Breakfast Sunday) and a souvenir shirt. More details are coming soon.

Motels, gasoline and other services

There is a small (very small ) town about 15 miles from the rally site, with a gas station, small motel (14 rooms) and a store. If you want to reserve a motel room for the event please let me know, and I will make the reservations. There is also a Bed & Breakfast a very short distance from the rally site, they have 8 beds available for a "group" that all know one another. If any of you want to book the B&B as a group, just give me a call and we can handle it for you.

Motorhomes

We will have room for 20 or 30 motorhomes at the Oasis, and if necessary there will be room on the edge of the entry road to the oasis. There is also a public campground not far away, but we can't tell you where just yet.... It would ruin the secret.

The Weather

February is usually a beautiful month in the desert, and hopefully this year will be no exception. Here is a weather graph, which shows the temperatures typical of the area in February... (this is off of the Death Valley website) and the weather there is similar to our "site".

Routes to the rally site:

We realize that many of you; especially from the Bay Area will have a long ride in front of you to come to the rally... so we don't want to make it too complicated nor do we want to take you off on a long side trip to find the "clues" There will only be two "clue stops" on each route and both will be around 50 miles from the rally site. Future emails from RawHyde will outline the routes.

If you are worried about finding the site?

Don't be! We won't put anyone in a position to get lost, or be unable to find the site. You have choices... you can ride with the "ridemasters" of the many BMW dealers that are leading groups out to the rally, or you can try your hand at using a GPS ( maybe a good time to buy one, no self respecting adventure rider should be without one anyway).. or you can ride with a friend that is GPS savvy! The last resort is that if all else fails, you can call my cell phone after 3 PM on the day of the Rally and there will be a recorded greeting with the location, directions and the co-ordinates of the actual site.

Special Rally Promotion:

Come to the Jan 21st Adventure Camp" and participate in the rally at no charge ! There will some spectacular adventure riding in the area of the rally. I will be leading a ride to a really great old mining site, and the road up to the mine is pretty rugged. If you want to take that ride, and your "off road skills" are limited please think about joining us for the Jan 21st Adventure Camp.
