Twitter is a Social Network website that allows users to post "micro-blogs" to other groups of users. Micro-blogging is essentially a text-message (140 characters or less) that a user posts and is received by numerous people who subscribe or "follow" that user's Twitter profile. Twitter is a powerful tool not only used by individuals messaging or "tweeting" groups of friends and family; but also by news websites, promotional companies, entertainment venues as well as numerous other businesses seeking to keep their customer base informed. Many people direct messages sent from profiles they follow to their smart phone to stay updated on the things and people that interest them while on the go.

Password note: to ensure maximum protection it is best to choose a password that includes both letters and numbers. Do not choose simply a word or a date or name. Most hackers use programs that
can repeatedly generate every word in any dictionary and date sequences in an attempt to gain access to your accounts. By combining a word(s) with a series of numbers or even better a random sequence, this
will significantly reduce the chances of unauthorized access.
Step One - Suggestions (click to view sample)
Here you can click on any of the general interests listed to the left. Once you click on one, a series of suggestions based on popularity will be displayed. Step Two - Find Friends (click to view sample)
If you choose to, you can input your email address and email password so that Twitter can search your email contacts and find them on the Social Network (Twitter). Tips & safe practices for your Twitter account.
- Be mindful of what you post. Statements made, links posted, personal info provided and images uploaded will be floating around the internet (commonly referred to as the "cloud") forever... in some cases, even if you delete them.
- It's a good idea to visit your privacy settings on you profile and adjust them accordingly to prevent people you haven't confirmed as followers from accessing information on your profile.
